Disaster Relief Efforts
In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian in 2019, the Mastroianni Family Foundation mobilized a large-scale disaster relief effort to assist Bahamians devastated by the storm. We were able to rescue over 234 Bahamians, with more than 75 finding temporary shelter with our team in Jupiter, Florida. Our comprehensive relief operation included transporting over 600,000 pounds of supplies to the Bahamas, organizing 165+ flights to the Abacos and Grand Bahama, and conducting 73 helicopter missions for search, rescue, and relief.
Once in Florida, we provided immediate assistance with hotel accommodations at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter and longer-term housing solutions, along with essential supplies such as clothes, toiletries, and food. Collaborating with local medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, we ensured that each individual received the care they needed to begin rebuilding their lives.
Pediatric Emergency Services
The Mastroianni Family Pediatric Emergency Department at Jupiter Medical Center stands as a testament to our commitment to the health and well-being of children in our community. This dedicated pediatric wing, made possible by a $3 million gift from our foundation, treats over 3,000 children annually, providing them with specialized care in a comforting environment.
The 6,300-square-foot facility features eight pediatric treatment rooms, a family waiting area, triage rooms, and indoor play areas, ensuring a comprehensive and child-friendly approach to emergency medical care. This significant donation has greatly enhanced the availability and quality of pediatric emergency services for families in the Jupiter area.
Empowering At-Risk Women
Supporting local charities like Hannah’s Home of South Florida is at the center of the Mastroianni Family Foundation's philanthropic efforts. Hannah’s Home offers a safe and nurturing environment for at-risk, pregnant young women.
Through our donations, we are proud to support the construction of two new duplex cottages, set to open in 2025, which will increase their capacity by 50 percent. These new cottages will provide much-needed housing and support to more young women, helping them navigate the challenges of pregnancy and motherhood in a safe, loving, and supportive setting.
